(1) Defects in the LED display chip material will rapidly multiply and multiply at higher temperatures, and even invade the light-emitting area, forming a large number of non-radiative recombination centers, which seriously reduces the luminous efficiency of the LED display. In addition, under high temperature conditions, the micro-defects in the material and the rapidly expanding impurities from the interface and the electric plate will also be introduced into the light-emitting region, forming a large number of deep energy levels, which will also accelerate the light decay of the LED display device.

(2) The transparent epoxy resin will denature and turn yellow at high temperature, which will affect its light transmission performance. The higher the operating temperature, the faster this process takes place, which is another major cause of light attenuation in LED displays.

(3) The light attenuation of phosphors is also a major factor affecting the light attenuation of LED displays, because the attenuation of phosphors is very serious at high temperatures.

Therefore, high temperature is the main source of light decay of LED display and shortened life of LED display.

Different brands of LED displays have different light attenuation. Usually LED display manufacturers will give a standard set of light attenuation curves. The luminous flux attenuation of the LED display caused by high temperature is irreversible, and the luminous flux before the irreversible light attenuation of the LED display does not occur, which is called the "initial luminous flux" of the LED display.
